The place

Historic villa that belonged to the Tittoni family, an example of the noble residences built in San Felice Circeo in the 19th and 20th centuries, when the town, thanks to the beauty of the promontory and its closeness to Rome, became a holiday destination for the Roman aristocracy and upper middle class.

Villa Tittoni stands on a site of archaeological interest, mentioned and described by Lugli in 1928. Near Villa Tittoni, built in the 19th century, there were in fact the remains of an older Roman villa, still visible by the shore near Torre Vittoria. Here a large rectangular enclosure, like a portico or ambulatory, extended towards the nearby mansion, Villa Tittoni itself, built at the beginning of the 19th century by Prince Poniatowski.
