The place
Circular nature trail starting and ending at the Visitor Centre of the Circeo National Park in Sabaudia. The route crosses part of the lowland forest and has rest points and information panels on the main features of the flora and fauna.
Along the trail, a «lestra» – an old settlement of huts used periodically by shepherds, woodcutters and charcoal burners – and a charcoal kiln have been reconstructed, helping visitors understand the historical relationship between local communities and the forest. Continuing on, you can reach Lake Paola; the return is along the same route.
