The place
One of the Roman cisterns recorded on the Circeo promontory, located in the area locally known as Terra Rossa (or Creta Rossa), not far from the Cyclopean Walls and the Le Crocette locality. Like the territory's other cisterns, it was part of the water-catchment and distribution system linked to the Roman rural settlements of the promontory; it is among the least documented and visited sites of the whole Circeo archaeological area.
